USBConductor
Plug one mic into two computers at the same time.
USBConductor is like a reverse USB hub for audio devices. Plug your mic, headphone amp, or audio interface into USBConductor, then plug USBConductor into two computers. Your device works on both of them at the same time: take a call on the work laptop while the desktop plays music through the same headphones.
Leave your email and we'll send you a single message when it's ready to order. That's the only thing we'll ever send you.
Nothing to install
Each computer sees a stock class-compliant USB audio device, the same as if the mic were plugged straight in. It works on macOS and Windows without drivers, and there's nothing running in your system tray.
Both directions at once
The mic feeds both machines at the same time, and playback from both machines is mixed into one output on the device.
Your volume stays yours
Each computer gets its own volume, balance, and mute, so a notification ding on the work laptop never touches the level on the desktop.
Questions
Is this a USB switch?
No. A switch moves the device from one computer to the other, and only one side has it at a time. USBConductor keeps it connected to both computers continuously, in both directions.
What do I install?
Nothing. Each computer sees a standard class-compliant USB audio device and uses its built-in drivers.
Which audio devices work with it?
USB audio class devices, meaning the kind that work when plugged into a computer without installing a driver. Development is being done against the RØDE NT-USB+, and compatibility beyond that is still being validated.
Which computers?
macOS and Windows are tested today. Other operating systems with standard USB audio support should work, but we won't claim them until we've tested them.
